Sovereign digital infrastructure, built from original research.
Zetako Compression Lab is the public engineering and research showcase for Zetako S.à r.l., a Luxembourg deep-tech company developing proprietary technologies for compression, collaboration and digital infrastructure.
The public organization covers four product lines:
- ZNode — sovereign workspace infrastructure with governed AI operations;
- ZCaps — adaptive lossless compression for modern data infrastructure;
- ZChain — blockchain-native lossless compression;
- ZNano — lossless compression for structured telemetry and constrained embedded systems.
Production source code and proprietary codec cores remain private. These repositories publish product evidence, benchmark results, architecture boundaries, deployment models, validation results and clearly scoped technical claims without exposing sensitive implementation details.

ZNode is Zetako's private workspace platform for organizations that want to retain control over communications, files, meetings, users, governance and operational infrastructure.
The current public release line documents:
- private messaging and group collaboration;
- workspace files and controlled sharing;
- meetings, voice/video and calendar workflows;
- administration, policy and audit;
- compliance-oriented governance;
- Passkeys and modern PWA/mobile integration;
- governed Agent operations with customer-controlled authority.

A ZNode Agent is a visible application principal operating through normal ZNode permissions and customer-defined policy. Effective authority remains governed by roles, scopes, ACLs, per-tool policy and human confirmation where required.
Delegate the work. Keep the authority.
The public ZNode repository is an engineering evidence layer rather than a mirror of the proprietary application source.
ZCaps is Zetako's proprietary lossless compression engine for structured, machine-generated and scientific data.
It is developed as a compression layer focused on:
- high compression density;
- exact reconstruction;
- selective access;
- heterogeneous modern-data workloads;
- parallel workload scaling on modern infrastructure.
On the frozen ZMDC-1G v1 modern-data corpus:
- 1.00 GB → 150.05 MB;
- 6.66× aggregate compression ratio;
- smallest aggregate output among the tested configurations;
- ZCaps led 7 of 9 workload families.
A separate 41.1 GiB heterogeneous campaign covered 1,663 files across 25 corpora. Another scientific-data campaign covered 30 large datasets, including genomic workloads, with measured selective extraction and compression ratios reaching 134.6× on the documented VCF chr21 dataset.
The modern-data corpus itself is published separately as ZMDC, with a frozen reference release, manifest and checksums.

ZChain is designed for blockchain-native data paths where the runtime already knows the structure of the data being processed.
Current public work covers Ethereum, Solana, Agave, Cosmos/CometBFT and additional blockchain integration models.
Selected current public results include:
| Workload | Savings | Encode | Decode |
|---|---|---|---|
Ethereum Reth JSON (ethereum-hex) |
82.37% | 131.11 MiB/s | 114.69 MiB/s |
| Solana mainnet RPC JSON | 82.79% | 110.40 MiB/s | 67.93 MiB/s |
| CometBFT CosmosHub RPC JSON | 69.53% | 67.29 MiB/s | 43.19 MiB/s |
| Agave ledger source | 74.73% | 81.81 MiB/s | 54.38 MiB/s |
The public repository documents product evolution, supported integration boundaries and measured chain-specific results while keeping the proprietary compression core private.
ZNano targets device payloads where bandwidth, implementation footprint and exact reconstruction matter.
Current public evidence includes:
| Metric | Current evidence |
|---|---|
| SHA-verified structured rerun rows | 10 / 10 pass |
| SHA-verified incompressible controls | 4 / 4 pass |
| Verified structured reduction range | 23.46% – 90.85% |
| Verified structured mean reduction | 56.32% |
| Verified structured median reduction | 58.14% |
| MCU targets represented | Cortex-M0/M0+, M3, M4, M4F |
Public evidence covers metering, GNSS and telemetry workloads, multi-frame processing, selective frame decoding, host validation and MCU-oriented footprint measurements.
ZMDC is an open, deterministic synthetic corpus for benchmarking compression on contemporary structured and machine-generated data.
The frozen ZMDC-1G v1.0 reference contains:
- 1,000,037,807 primary bytes;
- 951,552 records;
- 13 primary files;
- 9 workload families;
- a public pre-generated release archive, manifest and checksums.
ZMDC is maintained independently from codec rankings so external compression projects can use the same frozen reference corpus.
Compression is not one problem.
A blockchain runtime, a large modern-data platform and a Cortex-M telemetry device operate under very different constraints. Zetako therefore develops specialized technologies rather than forcing one implementation to compromise across every workload.
ZNode extends the same engineering philosophy into sovereign collaboration infrastructure: the organization keeps control over deployment, data and delegated operations.
This GitHub organization is an evidence layer, not a source-code dump of proprietary products.
Public material includes:
- measured benchmark results;
- architecture and deployment boundaries;
- product and release evolution;
- lossless validation evidence;
- non-sensitive security and governance information;
- integration-oriented documentation;
- explicit limits where they materially affect interpretation.
Kept private:
- proprietary product source code;
- proprietary codec implementations;
- internal tuning and test infrastructure;
- credentials, keys and operational secrets;
- exploit-relevant implementation details;
- customer data and customer-specific integrations;
- protected commercial releases.
