I used your Demo to convert from scc to vtt; but Positioning was missing from vtt file. My whole point in looking for a conversion solution. First position change at Cap 35.
I would have added the scc file; but .scc not accepted?

VTT positioning is disabled by default. To enable it on the command line:

I see the positioning in the file; but MacCaption does not display it. Still shows as Bottom?
I'm needing to convert my scc files for a client's mp4 ingest of mp4's and vtt's. Since MacCaption doesn't recognize or convert to the vtt properly, I'm wondering what does? How will I verify that the captions come out correctly on the clients output.

Also, I am so new that I don't know what to do with the ttconv-master folder I downloaded? Where do I put it?
I am on a Mac OS 26.

Every web browser has some support for WebVTT. Try this WebVTT renderer which I quickly set up:

Sorry I haven't replied yet. I've been trying to understand and implement what I've learned so far. Had trouble installing ttconv, had to use pip3 command (per Grok) which worked. All instructions said pip. I am on very shaky ground here.
I was able to convert a scc file to vtt with position turned on. Difficult CL compose.

Historically, many players disregarded positioning, which resulted in many folks disabling it. I do not see a reason to ignore positioning in 2026.

Of course not. Someone has taken the time and effort and care to reposition the captions for the benefit of both the reader and the producer, which is the right way to do it.
